Five people taken to Wichita Hospital after two vehicle crash in Harvey County/Gough 11/28/2010
HALSTEAD - Five people were taken to a Wichita Hospital Saturday after a two vehicle crash near Halstead, most of the injured were kids.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 48-year-old Maria Ortiz of Hutchinson was north bound on Halstead Road, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with U-S 50, then attempted to make a left hand turn in her Windstar van onto 50-highway pulled in front of west bound vehicle driven by 26-year-old Veronica Jo Seck of Burrton.
Seck, along with her passengers, 4-year-old Jamie W. Freeman II, and 5-year-old Jesse Lamunyon, all of Burrton, along with the two passengers in the Ortiz vehicle, 8-year-old Crystal Ortiz, and 10-year-old Jasmine Perrault, both of Hutchinson, were all taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of their injuries.
Everyone in the Seck vehicle were seat belted in, while those in the Ortiz vehicle were not according to the highway patrol report.
The accident occurring just before 6 p-m Saturday evening on U-S 50 and Halstead Road, just northwest of Halstead.
